FORFEITS, NO-SHOWS AND LATE STARTS

If you need to forfeit your game, please text Robert on 0417649654 with your Team Name and Age Group a minimum of three hours prior to your game.

No shows will in incur a minus 2 point penalty towards your overall standings.

Late teams will loose a goal every minute they are late. Game times for late starts will not be extended due to the tight scheduling of our games. Please ensure your team arrives a minimum of ten minutes prior to kick-off.

BEHAVIOURAL CONDUCT

From 2026 we will be tightening our tolerance on poor on-field and sideline behaviour. Any excessive calling from the side lines, complaining about the refereeing or interfering with the competition will be acted upon and may result in expulsion from the competition. This counts for players, coaches and spectators alike.

Fremantle 5 A Side prides itself on providing a fun and inclusive competition for all players, spectators, referees and staff. We expect all participating parties are expected to conduct themselves appropriately and respectively. Any form of discrimination (Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Misogyny, Ableism, Body Shaming, etc.) as well as any form of abuse, Verbal or Physical will not be tolerated. We take seriously allegations of this nature and we reserve the right to suspend or ban parties that do not meet our ethos and code of conduct. If you have any concerns that any party is not behaving appropriately, we encourage you to contact us so we can ensure we continue to provide a safe and fun environment for all.

FREMANTLE 5 A SIDE PROPERTY

Please be aware that our goals are not gym equipment and are not designed for children to hang and swing off. They are not secured to the ground and cannot bear the weight of children or adults. Hanging and/ or swinging off them causes damage to our goals, therefore we kindly ask you to emphasise this to your children and ensure children are being monitored at all times by a parent or guardian.

COMPETITION FORMAT AND RULES

We typically run our leagues in a dynamic format; which means teams are fixtured against teams of a similar standing. Leagues with a large number of teams will be broken up into smaller leagues for finals weeks ensuring teams all get a chance to play finals. More information regarding the competition format and rules of the game can be found here.

FIXTURES AND REQUESTS

Fixtures are published lates by Friday noon and are available on our website.

We do our best to accommodate team requests. If your team is unable to play at a certain time or would like to request a bye, please ensure to give us a one weeks notice so we are able to fixture your team accordingly. Fixture changes once they have been published are likely not possible.

LADDER and RESULTS

Generally the updated ladder and results come out the day after the games.

FINALS WEEKS

All teams will play finals, however even if you lose you will still play until the last week. Everyone plays until Round 9.

SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS

For non-finals games, teams are allowed to bring in unregistered players without prior permission from Fremantle 5 A Side given they are eligible to play in your age group.

For finals weeks, players must be registered. If an unregistered player is used during finals weeks, we reserve the right to disqualify the team even post-game.

If you are short of players, we may be able to provide an exemption to this rule given prior permission by Fremantle 5 A Side.

EXTREME WEATHER POLICY

In the case of extreme weather, our policy is as follows:

EXCESSIVE HEAT

Extra cooling breaks will be if the temperature at kickoff is 30°c or higher for junior matches, or 34°c or higher for senior matches. Those breaks will be at Quarter and 3 Quarter time. Half time break will also be increased to 2 minutes and the total game time will be reduced.

Games will be cancelled if at kickoff the temperature is at or above 36°c for both Adults and children for the temperature reading at Bruce Lee Oval (Not Perth city).

LIGHTNING/ STORMS

Football guidelines on lightning follow the 30/30 rule: stop play if the time between a lightning flash and thunder is less than 30 seconds. If this is the case, all players and officials must immediately seek proper shelter, not under trees or metal structures. Play should not resume until at least 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder is heard.

PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Free parking is available at Challenger TAFE car park and along the street, however parking does get busy, so please consider carpooling.

There is a bus stop directly at the oval, running with the 160, 998 and 999 bus lines.

INSURANCE

Fremantle 5 A Side carries Public Liability insurance, but not individual injury insurance. All players play at their own risk and it is strongly recommended that they carry a personal health insurance.
